Living at the Level of Choice

By Amy West

“The moment you accept total responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you claim the power to change anything.” ~ Hal Elrod, coach, author, entrepreneur

We’ve all said it: “I just don’t have time to….” It’s such a common phrase, isn’t it? But here’s the truth: we all have 24 hours in a day, and we’ve simply chosen not prioritize that particular thing.

Before you fold your arms in defense… take a breath. This isn’t about judgment or guilt; it’s about the power of choice. When we shift away from “I don’t have time to…” to “I’m choosing not to make time to…,” everything changes.

When we consciously choose how we spend our time, we transition from a reactive to an intentional way of living.

Ask yourself: What do I truly want to prioritize right now?

And here’s where the magic happens: when we live at the level of consciously choosing how we spend our time, we tap into living life defined by our values. We stop chasing time and start dancing with it.

When I work with clients, helping them shift into a mindset of conscious choice has been transformative. When life is approached from a place of choice, change becomes tangible, not because effort increases, but because we stop “should-ing” on ourselves and gain clarity about what we truly want to prioritize.

As we step into a new year, notice when you catch yourself saying, “I don’t have time to…”

A lack of time isn’t the problem; it’s how you choose to prioritize the time you have that matters most.

Stretching alongside you,

Amy
