“You cannot control the wind, but you can direct the sails.” ~ Dolly Parton
Consider this: your body is the vehicle, your mind is the instrument panel, and you are the driver.
Too often, we live as if the car is driving itself. We react to every bump in the road, every sharp turn, every unexpected detour. Stress hits the gas. Fear slams the brakes. Doubt jerks the wheel. And suddenly, we are the passengers in our own lives.
But what if we approach life from a different perspective?
The mind is not the master…it is the instrument. It provides information, signals, and feedback. It offers thoughts, stories, and interpretations. But it is not meant to be in the driver’s seat. You are.
When you begin to see your mind this way, everything shifts. A negative thought becomes a blinking warning light, not a command. Anxiety becomes a signal to check your direction, not abandon the journey. Even overwhelm can be reframed as the radio playing too loud, and you can turn down the volume.
Notice your thoughts without gripping them. Adjust your direction without overcorrecting. Stay present enough to feel the road, but grounded enough to choose your response.
This is where true freedom lies.
Driving well doesn’t mean the road is always smooth. It means you trust yourself to navigate whatever comes your way.
So today, check in:
Are you letting your mind take the wheel?
Or are you using it as the powerful instrument it was designed to be?
Remember, you are in the driver’s seat!
Stretching alongside you,
Amy
